Job#: 3039754 Job Description: Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Staff Product Designer with deep expertise in content strategy and language-driven product design. This role is tailored for an accomplished designer who thrives at the intersection of information architecture, content systems, and emerging AI-enabled writing experiences. An individual contributor who leads through influence, you will shape how content is structured, surfaced, and governed across the portfolio, partnering closely with product, design, data science, and engineering to define the content frameworks that scale across the experience. You will play a pivotal role in advancing how we design language products, establishing patterns and learnings that inform content practice well beyond a single team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead content strategy for high-stakes advisor experiences, defining how information is prioritized, structured, and displayed to support meaningful decision-making at the point of need.
- Design and architect language products, including AI-enabled writing experiences, establishing the voice, synthesis, and information hierarchy that shape how content is generated and surfaced.
- Develop content frameworks, models, and patterns that bring consistency and scalability to the product experience, and document them so learnings can be extrapolated across the broader organization.
- Partner with data scientists and engineers to understand and influence how data is modeled, recognizing the downstream impact data structure has on content, AI-generated language, and the overall UX.
- Partner with product management, design, and engineering to embed content thinking into product definition, ensuring content decisions are aligned to business strategy and user needs.
- Apply human-centered design and content strategy methods in meaningfully novel ways, finding opportunities to advance more content-driven and AI-enabled decision-making among digital product teams.
- Establish success metrics for content and language experiences, using research and data to inform decisions and demonstrate impact.
- Collaborate with design system and platform partners to align content patterns with broader architectural and governance approaches.
- Lead through influence across the portfolio, driving content and experience decisions through expertise, partnership, and persuasion rather than positional authority. Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, using storytelling to build trust, establish relationships, and influence content and experience strategy with stakeholders.
- Integrate new content design patterns, tools, and AI-enabled practices, enriching the design methodology toolkit.
- Support and/or develop an environment in which employees and colleagues are focused on continuous improvement, exceptional employee engagement, and an unwavering commitment to our clients. Shapes and/or supports a culture that represents the company purpose, promise and values, ensuring that company's trust and reputation remain strong with its clients.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Interaction Design, UI/UX Design, Content Strategy, Content Design, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
- 6-8 years of experience in a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in content strategy, content design, or UX writing within a product development team.
- Demonstrated experience designing language products and content systems, with direct experience building or shaping AI-enabled writing or content experiences strongly preferred.
- Proven experience defining content frameworks, information hierarchy, and content models for complex digital products.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain rationale for content and design decisions and clarify success metrics.
- Ability to develop processes and approaches for tackling content and IA problems, anticipating challenges, and uncovering innovative solutions.
- Demonstrated application of human-centered design with a keen understanding of business and technical impacts on content and digital design.
- Self-directed and proactive, with a passion for driving progress and making meaningful contributions independently.
- Able to turn research into action that solves the user definition of a problem.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration roles, with a focus on delivering business value.
- Working knowledge of how to leverage and extend a design system to achieve content and product goals.
- Relevant agile experience.
- Direct experience designing or training AI writing systems, content generation tooling, or language-based agents.
- Exceptional communication skills, including advanced storytelling and persuasion within a content and design context.
- Strategic content thinking and the ability to contribute to the overall content and design strategy of the organization.
- Knowledge and experience working in diversified financial services.
- Familiarity with content governance models and how content patterns scale across an enterprise.
