Network Administrator (Contract-to-Hire | Hybrid)OverviewWe are seeking a
mid-level Network Administrator to join a growing IT team in a
contract-to-hire capacity. This role offers a strong mix of
hands-on network engineering,
infrastructure projects, and
business-facing collaboration.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with business stakeholders to understand technical needs while also executing network solutions across multiple sites. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both
technical depth and user interaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Administration & Support- Provide Tier 2 network support for LAN, WAN, WLAN, voice, and security-related issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents while maintaining detailed documentation
- Administer and support:
- Routers and switches
- Wireless networks and access points
- Enterprise voice systems
- Perform network monitoring, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance
Infrastructure & Deployment- Design and support MDF/IDF telecom room buildouts, including:
- Rack layout
- Power and UPS coordination
- Cabling pathways and environmental considerations
- Plan and oversee fiber and copper cabling installations, including:
- Vendor coordination
- Installation and testing
- Labeling and documentation
- Support device connectivity including VLAN configuration, switchport setup, and cutovers
Wireless & Communication Systems- Assist with wireless deployments including:
- Site surveys
- Access point installations
- Performance validation
- Support enterprise telephony systems (provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting)
- Assist with deployment of communication systems such as paging solutions
Collaboration & Business Engagement- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend solutions
- Work cross-functionally with IT teams, engineering, facilities, and vendors
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of experience in network administration and deployment
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Routing and switching
- Wireless networking
- Network troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and translate them into network implementation plans
- Working knowledge of:
- Copper and fiber cabling standards
- Network documentation and labeling best practices
- Experience supporting enterprise network environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business users
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with:
- Cisco networking technologies (routers, switches, Catalyst, Nexus)
- Enterprise voice platforms (e.g., Cisco or Microsoft-based solutions)
- Wireless survey tools (e.g., Ekahau or similar)
- Exposure to:
- Structured cabling projects and vendor coordination
- Industrial or operational technology (OT) environments
- Network segmentation and security best practices
- Familiarity with change management processes
Work Environment & Schedule- Hybrid schedule: Onsite Monday-Thursday, remote Friday
- Participation in on-call rotation (approximately one week per month, limited call volume)
- Up to 50-60% local travel between nearby sites (mileage reimbursement provided beyond standard commute)

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
