Senior Business Systems Analyst (IT Metrics & Reporting)
Location: Hybrid (Tampa, FL or Dallas, TX)

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support enterprise IT performance measurement and reporting initiatives. This role will partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to define, develop, and deliver meaningful metrics, dashboards, and insights that drive informed decision-making at the leadership level.
This is a highly analytical role focused on transforming complex technology data into actionable, business-aligned insights while strengthening reporting governance and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Metrics Strategy & Development
- Define and evolve IT metrics, KPIs, and performance reporting frameworks
- Support the development and enhancement of IT scorecards and dashboards
- Analyze historical data to establish performance targets and thresholds
- Identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities through data analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve metric definition, accuracy, and relevance
Requirements Gathering & Delivery
- Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements
- Translate complex IT concepts into clear reporting and metric definitions
- Partner with engineering and BI teams to deliver reporting solutions
- Ensure requirements are traceable, testable, and aligned to business goals
- Collaborate on enhancements to dashboards and reporting tools
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Perform advanced data analysis using Excel and SQL
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems
- Support testing and validation of BI dashboards (e.g., Power BI)
- Develop executive-level reporting materials and presentations
- Deliver insights and recommendations to leadership stakeholders
Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to define and refine metrics
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership
- Drive alignment across cross-functional teams
Governance & Execution
- Manage work items and workflows using Agile tools (e.g., JIRA)
- Maintain organized documentation of requirements, decisions, and outputs
- Support governance processes for reporting consistency and transparency
- Contribute to continuous improvement and a data-driven culture
Qualifications
Required
- 6+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role
- Strong experience in:
- Data analysis and metrics development
- Advanced Excel (modeling, analysis)
- SQL querying
- Requirements gathering and documentation
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business insights
- Experience working in Agile environments (JIRA or similar tools)
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
