Summary

Salary: $61.00 USD Hourly - $65.00 USD Hourly
Description:
Scrum Master - Finance Technology (Release & Delivery Focused)

Location: Charlotte, NC (300 S Brevard)
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
Employment Type: Contract (24 months)
Conversion to Full-Time: Not anticipated
About the Role

Finance Technology partners with Finance, Controllers, Treasury, Risk, and Audit teams to design, build, and operate technology platforms that support financial reporting, controls, decision-making, and regulatory compliance.

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with a strong focus on release management and disciplined SDLC execution to support critical Finance Technology platforms, including SimCorp and CARD. These platforms operate in a highly regulated environment and support core finance, investment, and risk functions.

This role requires more than Agile facilitation-it calls for a delivery leader with hands-on experience managing complex releases, dependencies, and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Scrum Leadership
  • Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, ensuring consistent delivery of committed sprint goals
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies that drive accountability, decision-making, and continuous improvement
  • Coach teams and Product Owners using delivery metrics, flow analysis, and data-driven insights
  • Ensure sprint outcomes deliver incremental business value aligned with finance objectives
SDLC & Release Management (Primary Focus)
  • Apply deep understanding of the full SDLC, from intake and planning through build, test, release, and post-production support
  • Manage release planning, schedules, dependencies, risks, and cutovers across multiple teams
  • Ensure operational readiness for production releases, including:
    • Non-functional requirements (NFRs)
    • Monitoring and alerting
    • Runbooks and operational documentation
    • Knowledge transfer to L1/L2 production support teams
  • Drive disciplined release cadence, escalation management, and stakeholder communications
  • Partner with engineering teams to promote modern delivery practices, including CI/CD and automation
Jira, Metrics & Transparency
  • Maintain strong Jira hygiene, including accurate work tracking, dependency management, and capacity planning
  • Improve backlog readiness, flow efficiency, and delivery predictability
  • Develop dashboards and reports to provide visibility into delivery health, forecasting, and financial accuracy
  • Identify cross-team risks and blockers early and track them through resolution
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Build strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, Finance Technology, and support teams
  • Facilitate Scrum of Scrums and multi-team coordination forums
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders to support informed decision-making
  • Participate in Agile Communities of Practice and continuous improvement initiatives
What This Role Is Not
  • Not limited to Agile ceremony facilitation
  • Not suitable for candidates without hands-on SDLC or release management experience
  • Not a lightweight Agile coaching role

This position is intended for a delivery professional who understands how enterprise software is built, released, supported, and governed in a high-stakes financial environment.
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Scrum or Agile experience (or equivalent demonstrated experience through work, consulting, training, military service, or education)
  • Strong background in SDLC and release management within enterprise technology environments
  • Demonstrated experience delivering releases in regulated or risk-sensitive environments
  • Proven Scrum Master experience supporting complex delivery efforts
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification
  • Advanced proficiency with Jira for Agile delivery, reporting, and forecasting
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Controllers, Treasury, Finance, Risk, or Audit technology platforms
  • Background in banking or financial services technology
  • Experience with investment management or finance platforms such as SimCorp
