Job Description
- We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer / Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and enhance database systems supporting critical data operations. This role is responsible for ensuring database performance, integrity, and scalability while enabling efficient reporting, integration, and data access across platforms.
- The ideal candidate will have experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases, strong problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of data architecture, reporting systems, and cloud-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL and/or DynamoDB database environments
- Design, implement, and manage database schema changes, field updates, and structural enhancements
- Optimize database performance, query efficiency, and system scalability
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability across all database systems
- Support data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes, including integration with tools like Power BI
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries and change logs
- Enable REST-based data access and support structured reporting services
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution to ensure system stability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data integration and business intelligence needs
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (DynamoDB)
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and reporting frameworks
- Familiarity with cloud-based database environments and data services
- Experience supporting reporting tools such as Power BI or similar platforms
- Knowledge of data governance, auditability, and data quality best practices
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
