RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Linux Hardware/Software Configuration Engineer in Plano, TX.
Summary:
Our client is seeking a Linux Hardware/Software Configuration Engineer to configure, optimize, and support Linux-based computing environments used in radar and defense applications. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, operating systems, networking, and application deployment.
Duties:
* Configure and optimize Linux HW/SW environments for performance, reliability, and security
* Develop and test configuration scripts, drivers, and system tools
* Support optimized computing and networking configurations
* Configure and deploy containerized applications
* Troubleshoot hardware-software integration issues across the lifecycle
* Partner with software, systems, and infrastructure teams
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline or equivalent experience
* 5-10 years of Linux system configuration and integration experience
* Strong understanding of Linux internals, networking, and system performance
* Experience supporting hardware-dependent Linux environments
* Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with containers (Docker, Podman, etc.)
* Exposure to defense, aerospace, or regulated environments
* Familiarity with GitLab, Artifactory, Bitbucket, or Jira
* Experience supporting secure or classified systems
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
