Individual contributor sales role focused on both inbound lead conversion and outbound prospecting across the commercial segment. The CEE manages a 3-month sales cycle, builds a book of business, and negotiates deals with existing clients. Reports to VP of Client Engagement. 30% overnight travel required. This is NOT a VP or AVP-level role — individual contributor profile only.
• Handle and convert inbound leads from marketing and referrals
• Proactively prospect via cold calls, emails, networking, and social media
• Negotiate and expand deals with existing client accounts
• Build and manage a commercial book of business independently
• Present solutions to C-suite, product management, and IT leadership
• Travel 30% overnight for client-facing meetings and events
• Collaborate with a team of peer executives while operating as an individual contributor
MUST-HAVES vs. NICE-TO-HAVES
Must-Haves • Resident of Chicago, NYC, LA, Dallas, or San Francisco • 3+ years current B2B sales to US clientele • 3+ years selling staff augmentation or team extension services • Experience selling multi-use IT/software services (not single-use apps) • Working knowledge of SDLC terminology and methodologies • Background at companies under 500 employees or early-stage startups • Proven new business development and inbound close rate results • Comfortable presenting to C-level, product, and IT decision makers • No more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years — stable tenure required • No employment gaps (contractors flagged if primarily 1099 last 8–10 years) • Willing and able to travel 30% overnight | Nice-to-Haves • Experience with custom software dev, AI/data science, UX/UI, or cloud services • Background working with multinational or distributed dev teams • High-volume inbound lead conversion track record • Networking-forward personality — prospects face-to-face naturally |
• Base salary: ~$200,000
• Performance bonus: $30,000–$40,000/year
• Uncapped commission at 5% — OTE $400K Year 1, $500K+ Year 2+
