Autonomous Systems Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking an Autonomous Systems Coordinator to support autonomous mining operations by developing, maintaining, and optimizing virtual mining environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of haul roads, loading plans, dump plans, exclusion zones, and other operational parameters within autonomous systems. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical aptitude, operational awareness, and problem-solving skills to support safe, efficient, and reliable autonomous mining activities.

What You'll Do

Autonomous Environment Management
  • Develop, maintain, and refine autonomous mining environments, including haul roads, load plans, dump plans, and exclusion zones.
  • Ensure alignment between virtual operational environments and actual field conditions.
  • Perform system updates and modifications based on changing mine conditions and operational requirements.
  • Validate system accuracy and monitor autonomous operational performance.

Operational Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with field personnel and operational teams to verify roadway, loading, dumping, and exclusion area configurations.
  • Maintain continuous communication with field-based technicians to ensure system integrity and operational effectiveness.
  • Support safe and efficient autonomous fleet movement through proactive system adjustments.

System Optimization & Performance
  • Create, update, and monitor:
    • Speed zones
    • One-way travel routes
    • Right-of-way rules
    • Fail-safe controls
  • Analyze system data and operational feedback to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Review audit findings, slow/stop reports, and mine models to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Troubleshooting & Support
  • Perform system validation activities and operational testing.
  • Investigate and resolve issues impacting autonomous system performance.
  • Escalate complex technical issues when necessary.
  • Support operational continuity through effective problem identification and resolution.

Safety & Compliance
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Report autonomous-related incidents promptly and accurately.
  • Participate in safety meetings, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a strong safety culture in a high-risk operational environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Four (4) years of combined experience in one or more of the following:
    • Mining operations
    • Heavy industrial environments
    • Dispatch operations
    • Fleet management systems
    • Autonomous operations
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
  • Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to successfully complete required assessments and competency evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience as a Systems Coordinator.
  • Experience with shovel operations and/or mining support equipment.
  • Pit Technician experience.
  • Familiarity with autonomous haulage systems and mining technologies.
