Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Android developer to join an Agile REST development team. This role involves developing software from conceptual design through to deployment, adhering to standard practices for code structure, application performance, and maintainability. The position is a 12-month contract with a hybrid work model based in Memphis, TN.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop application component logic for an Android application.
- Work within an Agile Kanban and Scrum development framework.
- Ensure code quality, reusability, and application performance.
- Implement unit tests and maintain code according to standards.
- Facilitate technical discussions and decisions with other developers.
- Implement mock interfaces for testing purposes.
- Contribute to projects in both new development and maintenance phases.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a developer responsible for Android applications, and a minimum of 6-8 years of experience in Java EE development, including Java 8 & 11.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of the Android SDK is required. Candidates should have experience with Test-Driven Development using frameworks such as Cucumber.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building modern Android applications using Android Jetpack.
- Experience in IoT and WebSocket.
- Experience developing with the Android SDK "Leanback" library for TV applications.
- Experience building Java-based microservices, for example with Spring Boot.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $63.00-$70.00 /hr per hour. Please note: This position is not eligible for benefits.
