Position- Technical Writer

Location- Sunnyvale, CA, Grrenwood Village, CO or Draper, UT

6+ Months Contract

A senior, consulting-minded content operations leader — not a hands-on technical writer. The ideal candidate has spent 7+ years in technical documentation / content operations / knowledge management and has personally led a documentation transformation, ideally introducing AI/LLM-assisted authoring and content workflows. They combine deep craft (information architecture, taxonomy, metadata, content lifecycle, governance) with the soft skills to assess a current state, design a future-state operating model, and drive change across Product, Engineering, Support, and Technical Writing. Comfortable working onsite from a Proofpoint US office and ideally already in or near the Pacific/Mountain time zone. Cybersecurity or enterprise-SaaS background is a strong differentiator.

Ideal Candidate Profile

•             Current/recent titles: Content Strategist, Content Operations Lead/Manager, Documentation Manager, Knowledge Management Lead, Information Architect, DocOps Lead, or Content Transformation Consultant.

•             Has led at least one end-to-end documentation or content-ops modernization program.

•             Demonstrable use of AI/GenAI in content workflows (drafting, summarization, reuse, content QA).

•             Tooling depth in at least one of: Confluence, MadCap Flare, SharePoint, Document360 (or comparable CCMS/help-authoring/KM platform).

•             Strong stakeholder management and change leadership; able to operate as a trusted advisor.

•             Background in cybersecurity, enterprise SaaS, or otherwise highly technical products preferred.
