Role Overview

We are seeking an Application Programmer for a data science team focused on software development metrics at an enterprise scale. The role involves partnering across engineering and product teams to deliver insights on key metrics. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy and reliability of queries and metrics across Power BI, Oracle, and MongoDB, coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, and communicate findings effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute test plans for data quality across Oracle SQL, MongoDB aggregation pipelines, and Power BI datasets.
  • Validate metric definitions against source-of-truth tables and collections, reconciling discrepancies and documenting the root cause.
  • Build repeatable checks and maintain test cases in a central repository like Confluence or Jira.
  • Partner with BI developers, data engineers, and product analysts to triage defects and track remediation.
  • Monitor data refreshes and lineage in Power BI, diagnosing issues impacting metric accuracy or performance.
  • Produce clear issue summaries and stakeholder updates on problem resolution.
  • Contribute to data quality standards, test coverage, and release sign-off criteria.
Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:
  • Hands-on SQL experience with Oracle, including joins, window functions, and CTEs.
  • Experience with MongoDB, including aggregation pipelines and indexing.
  • Power BI validation skills, including data model checks and refresh troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of QA fundamentals such as test case design and defect lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of SDLC in agile environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise data and BI semantic modeling.
  • Exposure to tools such as Jira, Jenkins, SonarQube, or Ansible Tower.
  • Scripting for QA automation, using Python or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with data governance concepts like data contracts, SLAs, and lineage.
Compensation & Benefits

The pay rate for this position is between $65.00 and $68.26 per hour.
