Role OverviewThis role will focus on designing and implementing modern analytics and data platform solutions, enabling organizations to leverage Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and SQL-based architectures for scalable, high-performance data analytics and reporting. The successful candidate will function as a trusted technical advisor and solution architect, guiding customers' database, engineering and other teams through the design, implementation, migration, and optimization of modern data platforms. This role requires the ability to bridge data engineering, analytics, and business intelligence disciplines, enabling organizations to maximize the value of their data through Fabric-powered analytics and Power BI-driven insights.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise BI architecture, semantic modeling, modern data warehouse patterns, and performance optimization, with
strong hands-on experience in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and SQL Server environments.
Ideal candidate will play a key role in design, development and optimization of Power BI and SQL Server implementations along with assisting in migration and modernization of solutions to Microsoft Fabric.
2. Core ResponsibilitiesI. Power BI and Analytics Solutions (80% Workloads)The candidate will have deep expertise in Power BI, Tabular Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, SQL Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis services and SQL Server engine. Ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing effective Power BI solutions, with a focus on Power BI Embedded, tabular data modeling, report development, data warehouse integration, analytics, DAX security and governance expertise. Additional areas of focus may include, but are not limited to:
- Design enterprise Power BI architectures and reporting frameworks.
- Develop and optimize semantic models, DAX calculations, and enterprise dashboards.
- Architect Power BI Embedded solutions for application integration.
Proven experience leading or executing Tableau to Power BI migrations.
- Implement security models including Row Level Security (RLS) and governance controls.

Technical Skills Power BI Solution design and Power BI Embedded development.
Tabular Data modeling and database design.
Optimize Tabular Data Models
Troubleshoot slow running Power BI and paginated reports.
DAX, Power Query M Language, development and optimization
Paginated Report Development (SQL Server Reporting Services)
Data connectivity best practices to SQL, Analysis Service, Oracle, MySQL, Azure, AWS and other services.
Optimize performance across datasets, semantic models, and reports.
Familiar with Power BI REST API to programmatically interact with Power BI Service.
Power BI Row Level security along with other Security features.
Build data pipelines using Power Query to transform data.
- Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, One Lake, Data Pipelines, and Semantic Models
Power BI Direct Lake vs Import vs Direct Query decisioning
Experience using
GitHub Copilot and Power BI Copilot to enhance developer productivity and enable AI-assisted analytics and reporting, AI Agents experience a plus as well.
Experience modernizing on-prem Data Wahehouses to Azure-based architectures (Azure Synapse / Fabric Warehouse / Lakehouse).
End-to-end analytics architecture spanning ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, and BI consumption.
- Design Direct Lake, Import, and DirectQuery strategies.
- Spark, Python or any other coding skills, Azure Databricks a plus
II. SQL Platform (20% workload)For SQL Server, there should be a strong focus on Performance, High Availability, and Failover Clustering. The role requires deep understanding of database architecture, query optimization, and high availability solutions to ensure that data platforms supporting analytics and business workloads are
scalable, secure, and highly performant. The CSA will work closely with customer database administrators, data engineers, and application teams to
design, implement, and optimize SQL Server-based data platforms.

IV. Customer and Delivery Engagement Provide technical leadership in customer-facing engagements.
Engage with customer IT Executives and business leaders to understand their data estate, priorities, and success measures, and design secure, scalable Data & AI solutions that deliver measurable business value.
The candidate is expected to deliver training and upskilling workshops.
