Salary Range: $116,000 - $165,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Grand Haven seeking Engineering Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
• Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize operational efficiency and product quality.
• Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and technical specifications.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing lean manufacturing principles and advanced engineering techniques.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and internal policies within the engineering department.
• Develop and manage the engineering department budget, resource allocation, and strategic planning.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and automation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team of engineers.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and their application in an engineering context.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and their use in process improvement.
• Proficiency in a programming language commonly used in manufacturing automation (e.g., Python, C++, or similar).
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing junior engineers.
