Automation Engineer | Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $81,000 - $126,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Lansing seeking Automation Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automation systems and equipment.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify automation opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for automation systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for automation-related downtime and implement corrective actions.
  • Implement and maintain robotic systems, PLCs, SCADA, and other industrial control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations for all automation projects.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, and robotics within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus).
  • Strong understanding of robotics and robotic programming (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
