Web Accessibility Assitant

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Salt Lake City, UT that is seeking a Web Accessibility Assistant to support the accessibility and usability of state-managed websites.

Summary:
This role will focus on ensuring digital content meets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, improving the overall website experience for users, and supporting ongoing accessibility monitoring and remediation efforts. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, an aptitude for accessibility and best practices, and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to make technology more inclusive and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support the implementation and ongoing compliance of WCAG 2.1 AA web accessibility standards
* Evaluate websites for accessibility issues and assist with remediation efforts
* Use WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tools, including Pope Tech API, to test and validate accessibility
* Assist with content updates and accessibility improvements within WordPress, using the Cornerstone Builder
* Apply basic UX design principles to enhance website usability and accessibility
* Document accessibility findings and communicate recommendations clearly to stakeholders
* Collaborate with colleagues to translate technical accessibility concepts into user-friendly guidance
* Contribute positively as a team player with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset

REQUIREMENTS:
* 1-2 years of experience and/or proficiency implementing WCAG 2.1 AA web accessibility standards; Aptitude for enhancing website experience for users
* 1-2 years of experience and/or proficiency in using WAVE - Web Accessibility Evaluation tools, including Pope Tech API
* Experience working as a team player with a positive attitude
* Excellent, demonstrated attention to detail
* Demonstrated proficiency in working in WordPress, using the Cornerstone Builder, and understanding of basic principles of UX design
* Demonstrated ability to communicate with colleagues and to translate technology into user-friendly terms; Demonstrated problem-solving abilities

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
