The role involves designing, enhancing, and maintaining advanced quantitative models that calculate exposure across multiple product classes. The engineer will work across Python modeling libraries, SQL datasets, and stochastic model frameworks to modernize legacy methodologies and support high-impact CIB decision-making.
This is
not a pricing or market-risk model role - it specifically supports
counterparty credit risk and
cross-margin exposure, which are highly visible and time-sensitive components of the firm's risk analytics.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Modeling & Quantitative Analysis Develop and enhance cross-margining counterparty risk models
Derive mathematical formulas and validate quantitative assumptions
Identify model gaps, inconsistencies, and outdated logic
Implement stochastic or capital markets techniques to improve accuracy
Support modeling across:
- Equity swaps
- Metals
- Energy derivatives
- Convertible bonds
Python-Based Technical Development Build and maintain Python quant libraries
Produce robust prototype models, then partner with tech teams for productionization
Use AI-enabled coding tools (e.g., Copilot) to accelerate development
Perform SQL-based data extraction, validation, and analysis
Cross-Functional Collaboration Support model owners, business stakeholders, auditors, and PMs
Translate business and technical concepts into model specifications
Provide mentorship and knowledge-sharing to junior team members
Operational Readiness Respond quickly to urgent model-related requests
Ensure timely delivery of enhancements and model documentation
Support model validation and audit needs
