Pay Rate: $50-$70/hr
OverviewWe are seeking a
SharePoint Migration Engineer to support an enterprise migration from SharePoint 2016 (on-premises) to SharePoint Online (Microsoft 365). This role is ideal for someone who can step into an active migration effort, execute efficiently, and ensure a smooth transition into a modern, standardized SharePoint environment.
Key Responsibilities- Execute end-to-end migrations from SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Online using ShareGate
- Perform post-migration activities including validation, permissions cleanup, and issue resolution
- Analyze and migrate complex site structures, libraries, lists, and metadata
- Troubleshoot migration errors, performance issues, and data inconsistencies
- Use PowerShell to automate migration processes, reporting, and bulk updates
- Support SharePoint Online administration, including site collections and governance
- Assist with modernizing SharePoint environments (pages, web parts, site configurations)
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and provide clear status updates and documentation
Required Qualifications- Proven experience with SharePoint migrations (on-prem to SharePoint Online)
- Strong hands-on experience with ShareGate for large-scale migrations
- Proficiency in PowerShell for automation and migration support
- Deep knowledge of SharePoint Online (site architecture, permissions, governance)
- Experience with migration planning, execution, and validation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Familiarity with Azure AD / Entra ID for identity and access management
Nice-to-Have Skills- Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) for workflow or form modernization
- Exposure to Microsoft Purview or M365 compliance/governance tools
- SharePoint development experience (modern sites, SPFx, or page customization)
