Job Title: Network Services/Telecommunications Manager
Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Network Services Manager to provide leadership and oversight of our network operations. This role will ensure the availability, reliability, and security of the organization s network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms. The successful candidate will serve as a key escalation point for high-priority issues, oversee daily operations, and drive ongoing initiatives that enhance network performance and security posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms.
- Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability.
- Serve as the escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues.
- Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security-focused functions.
- Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including:
- SD-WAN implementation and optimization
- Network monitoring and observability tools (e.g., ThousandEyes, AppDynamics)
- Security integrations (e.g., Secure Workload, NGFW, identity services)
- Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in change management processes, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives.
- Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership.
- Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures.
- Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager.
Candidate Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years performing supervisory/management work, including providing clear direction, promoting teamwork, and motivating others to accomplish goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with administration, maintenance, and design of Cisco VoIP solutions.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience managing a networking team in a highly complex environment.
- Experience supporting and implementing a 24x7x365 network, voice, and video environment.
