Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) Project Manager to support the implementation and coordination of a portfolio of 13 approved initiatives.

The Project Manager will provide hands-on project management, implementation, and coordination support across multiple initiatives and workstreams. This role will collaborate with leadership, project managers, initiative leads, government agencies, subrecipients, contractors, and program partners to ensure projects remain aligned with approved plans, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and applicable requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong project management, organizational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and translate high-level program objectives into actionable work plans, milestones, deliverables, and follow-up activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and coordination across all 13 RHTP initiatives and related program activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and implementation trackers.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities across multiple stakeholders, agencies, subrecipients, contractors, and program partners.
  • Manage dependencies and interrelated activities across multiple initiatives and workstreams.
  • Monitor project progress, timelines, milestones, and deliverables while identifying risks, issues, delays, and dependencies.
  • Track action items and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and maintain action-item logs.
  • Ensure activities remain aligned with approved plans, budgets, milestones, and applicable requirements.
  • Support monitoring of budgets, procurement activities, contracts, and implementation requirements.
  • Collect and organize information for program reporting, including milestones, deliverables, expenditures, and performance measures.
  • Prepare status reports, presentations, dashboards, briefing materials, project updates, and executive communications.
  • Identify and escalate risks, issues, and implementation barriers requiring leadership attention.
  • Support technical assistance, procurement, contracting, community engagement, and other cross-functional activities.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, including plans, meeting records, decisions, deliverables, and status updates.
  • Develop and improve project management processes, templates, trackers, workflows, and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and timely project execution.
  • Perform additional project management and implementation activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing or coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, organizations, and workstreams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, deadlines, and dependencies.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to proactively identify risks and issues and communicate project status, barriers, and recommended actions.
  • Strong follow-up skills with the ability to drive completion of action items and deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills for both operational and executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting government, healthcare, public health, behavioral health, human services, or community-based programs.
  • Experience working in a public-sector or highly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with federal grants management.
  • Experience with procurement, contracting, budgets, compliance, and program reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, spreadsheets, project management software, and project tracking tools.
  • Experience preparing dashboards, presentations, executive briefings, and program status reports.
  • Experience coordinating large, multi-workstream transformation or implementation programs.
