Role Overview
We are seeking an IT Technical Engineering Analyst to provide network-specific field services. This role involves supporting approximately 18 facilities, requiring travel within a 60-mile radius. The position focuses on maintaining and upgrading network infrastructure, including hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, often in industrial environments such as chemical plants and mines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform network equipment installations, including cable swaps, cleanups, and switch refreshes.
- Configure, test, and label Cisco networking devices and access points.
- Proactively replace equipment according to a refresh schedule and manage changes through established protocols.
- Install and support video conferencing systems, including Polycom hardware, monitors, projectors, and TV wall mounts.
- Collaborate with managed service providers and work with vendors to define cabling requirements.
- Travel to various facilities using a shared fleet vehicle, adhering to all required safety protocols.
- Complete necessary safety training, such as OSHA and MSHA, and obtain a TWIC card.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of networking experience in a field services capacity is required. Experience must include setting up and working with devices such as routers, switches, and wiring. Familiarity with working in hazardous locations like mines, chemical plants, and ports is necessary.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Cisco networking equipment is essential. Experience with Polycom video conferencing systems is also required. The candidate must be capable of performing physical tasks, which may include using a ladder for installations and removals.
Interpersonal Skills: The candidate must be a team player with the patience to effectively communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNA and/or Network+ certifications are preferred.
- Familiarity with Checkpoint firewalls is considered an asset.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay rate for this position is between $60.00 and $70.00 per hour. The contract duration is initially set for 6 to 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
