Job DescriptionGeneral FunctionAs a member of an agile development squad, this role is responsible for implementing new features and enabling capabilities using modern software engineering tools and practices. The position adheres to established engineering standards, contributes to a culture of continuous improvement, and actively participates in knowledge sharing within communities of practice.
The role also supports organizational risk management by openly communicating ideas and concerns, following defined policies and procedures, and ensuring that actions align with expectations for quality, compliance, and a positive end-user experience. Responsibilities include identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks as part of day-to-day work.
Duties and Responsibilities- Implement new software features while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
- Contribute to a learning-focused culture by documenting and sharing technical knowledge within the agile squad.
- Participate in developer communities of practice, including code reviews, best-practice discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Stay current with relevant technology trends and emerging tools.
- Assist in researching and resolving user-reported issues.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Up to five years of software development experience.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design principles and experience with one or more programming languages such as COBOL, SAS, or other open-system languages.
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with any of the following is a plus: Snowflake tools (e.g., Elevate, Switchboard, DBT), ETL processes, or file movement using sFTP.
- Understanding of basic networking and firewall concepts.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git or GitHub.
- Understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with secure coding and software development security best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
