Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Marcos, CA that is seeking a National Account Manager.

Responsibilities
Account Management & Growth:
* Own day-to-day relationships with key retail accounts (e.g., Walmart, Kroger, Whole Foods, H-E-B)
* Develop and execute account-specific growth strategies to increase distribution, placement, and sales velocity
* Partner with buyers and category managers to expand shelf presence and promotional activity

Retail Execution & Performance:
* Monitor account performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to drive growth
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders on pricing, promotions, and merchandising strategies
* Ensure strong execution across retailer requirements, timelines, and deliverables

Cross-Functional:
* Collaboration: Work closely with operations, supply chain, and marketing to ensure alignment with retailer needs
* Support forecasting and inventory planning to maintain optimal stock levels
* Provide input on category insights and competitive positioning

Relationship Development:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across assigned accounts
* Act as the primary point of contact for escalations, negotiations, and strategic discussions
* Identify new opportunities within accounts (line extensions, new SKUs, additional regions)

REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-5+ years of experience in CPG sales, account management, or retail-facing roles
* Proven experience managing grocery or mass retail accounts
* Strong understanding of retailer dynamics, category management, and sell-in/sell-through strategies
* Ability to operate independently in a lean startup environment
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in beverage, functional beverage, or alcohol categories
* Exposure to high-growth or early-stage brands
* Strong analytical skills (pricing, promotions, trade spend, retail performance data)

Travel:
* Approximately 15-20% travel (primarily for key retailer meetings and occasional field visits)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
