JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an AWS Cloud Systems Engineer to support cloud engineering, system integration, and operational activities within a federal program.
This role focuses on ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of AWS-based cloud systems while supporting engineering, validation, and integration activities across distributed environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support design, implementation, and maintenance of AWS cloud environments
- Perform system integration, verification, and validation activities
- Analyze system performance, functionality, and configuration issues
- Develop proactive engineering solutions to improve system reliability
- Monitor cloud environments and optimize performance
- Utilize system metrics and trends to improve system operations
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and cloud teams
- Support implementation of cloud-based solutions aligned with mission requirements
- Develop solutions to complex engineering challenges in cloud environments
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in cloud engineering, systems engineering, or related discipline
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Understanding of system integration, performance, and troubleshooting
Certifications
- DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification (IAT Level II required)
- One or more cloud certifications (AWS preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal or defense programs
- Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native architectures
- Experience with automation, scripting, or DevOps tools
- Experience working in secure or classified environments
- Ability to support distributed cloud environments
