JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking an Azure Cloud Security Engineer to support cloud security engineering, system integration, and cybersecurity initiatives within a federal program.
This role focuses on ensuring the security, stability, and performance of cloud-based systems while supporting engineering, validation, and integration activities across Azure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support secure design and implementation of Azure cloud environments
- Perform system integration, verification, and validation activities
- Analyze system performance, security posture, and configuration issues
- Support development of secure cloud architectures aligned with cybersecurity standards
- Monitor and assess cloud environments for vulnerabilities and risks
- Utilize system metrics and trends to improve performance and security
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and cybersecurity teams
- Support implementation of security controls and compliance requirements
- Develop solutions to improve cloud security and operational resilience
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in cloud engineering, cybersecurity, or related discipline
- Experience supporting cloud environments (Azure preferred)
- Understanding of cloud security, system integration, and performance analysis
Certifications
- DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification (IAT Level II required)
- One or more cloud certifications (Azure preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal or defense programs
- Familiarity with Azure security tools and services
- Experience working within cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, RMF)
- Experience supporting secure environments and classified systems
- Exposure to DevSecOps or automation practices
