Senior Electrical Power Engineer


Location: Newington, NH | Salary: $150,000 | Direct Hire

Join a global leader in subsea fiber optic cable technology, responsible for enabling over half of the world's undersea internet infrastructure. We are seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff to design and develop next-generation, high-reliability electrical and electro-optical systems for undersea applications.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on advanced circuit design, system integration, and product qualification for mission-critical communication systems used in extreme environments.

Key Responsibilities


  • Design and simulate analog and digital circuits, including microcontrollers and FPGAs

  • Develop electro-optical systems involving lasers, photodiodes, and fiber optic components

  • Design fault-tolerant, high-reliability electronic systems for undersea applications

  • Plan and execute qualification and verification testing for new product designs

  • Develop test plans for factory validation and manufacturing integration

  • Support prototype development, hands-on lab testing, and circuit assembly

  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, optical, and reliability engineering teams

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external suppliers

  • Ensure all engineering work meets company quality, reliability, and safety standards


Qualifications


  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience required

  • Hands-on experience with design verification and qualification testing of designs for high reliability applications

  • Experienced in laboratory testing of new designs (particularly in the area of power products like power supplies, switching, etc.

  • Strong background in analog/digital circuit design and system simulation

  • Experience with electro-optical systems and fiber optic technologies

  • Hands-on skills in soldering, circuit assembly, and laboratory testing

  • Strong data analysis and technical problem-solving abilities

  • Experience with optical measurement techniques and single-mode fiber systems preferred

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of execution
