Job Overview: The Application Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing and extending applications used at Amazon. This position involves developing solutions and supporting multiple applications within and peripheral to Oracle Financial Applications R12. The role focuses on automating financial processes to support Amazon's growth, handling massive data volumes, and scaling complex business processes to manage millions of financial transactions daily. The ideal candidate will possess critical thinking, problem-solving skills, deep software development experience, and a passion for creating maintainable, highly reliable applications.
Responsibilities: - Design and develop solutions for automating financial processes.
- Support and extend Oracle Financial Applications R12 and peripheral systems.
- Handle massive data volumes and complex business processes.
- Guide technical and functional decisions within Oracle Financials and custom software platforms.
- Take ownership of product vision, technical architecture, and project delivery.
- Build high-performance, reliable solutions in a multi-tiered, distributed environment.
- Collaborate with teams to simplify processes and deliver results.
- Mentor junior software engineers and influence best practices within the team.
Qualifications: - Sound understanding of Oracle ERP Architecture.
- Experience in developing RICE components using Oracle Forms, Reports, XML Publisher, and SQL/PLSQL.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of experience in Oracle Financials.
- Proven object-oriented design skills and ability to find scalable solutions to complex problems.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, data analysis, and designing for performance, scalability, and availability.
- Experience in building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to drive requirements discussions with customers.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and improving team effectiveness.
- Proficiency in Java is a plus.

Pay Range: $70 - $75
