We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Enterprise Data Modeler to lead the design and evolution of our enterprise data architecture. In this pivotal role, you will establish and govern core data domains, develop canonical data models, and ensure seamless integration across our cloud-based platforms. Your expertise will enable the organization to leverage consistent, scalable, and high-quality data structures that support business agility and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and Govern Data Domains: Lead the development of enterprise data domains, including core entities, relationships, and semantic definitions, promoting consistent understanding and reuse organization-wide.
  • Canonical Data Model Leadership: Create, maintain, and enforce canonical data models serving as the authoritative semantic foundation for APIs and integrations, collaborating with architecture, API platform, and integration teams to ensure alignment.
  • Data Modeling & Translation: Convert complex business concepts and requirements into comprehensive conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Ensure traceability from business meanings to technical implementations.
  • Cloud Data Model Design: Guide Snowflake data modeling efforts, ensuring models are optimized for cloud scalability, performance, and operational longevity.
  • Standards & Best Practices: Establish and enforce data modeling standards, including naming conventions, key strategies, versioning, and documentation to promote consistency and quality.
  • Cross-Functional Facilitation: Lead workshops and discussions to resolve semantic differences, drive consensus, and secure organizational buy-in on data models.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and coaching to junior data modelers, fostering a culture of best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the lifecycle of data models, including version control, impact analysis, and evolution management aligned with changing business needs.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Clearly articulate complex data architecture concepts to business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to ensure effective implementation and adoption.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in data modeling, enterprise data architecture, or information architecture roles.
  • Proven expertise in designing and delivering enterprise and domain data models across complex, multi-organizational environments.
  • Hands-on experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting diverse business lines.
  • Demonstrated success in defining and governing canonical data models, especially in support of enterprise API and integration strategies.
  • Strong background in cloud data platforms, preferably Snowflake, with a solid understanding of modern data modeling principles and trade-offs.
  • Ability to translate business needs into durable, scalable data structures and effectively collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Influential communicator with a track record of driving consensus and making strategic decisions without formal authority.
  • Mentorship experience with a focus on ensuring model quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
