Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced JIRA Configurator & Automation Specialist to own, optimize, and scale our Atlassian ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be a JIRA power user with deep expertise in workflow design, project configuration, automation, integrations, reporting, and governance. This role will partner closely with Engineering, Product, PMO, Operations, and Business teams to streamline processes and maximize platform efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

JIRA Administration & Configuration

• Design, configure, and maintain JIRA projects, workflows, issue types, screens, fields, permissions, and notification schemes.
• Manage JIRA Cloud/Data Center administration, user access, roles, and security settings.
• Implement best practices for project setup, governance, and scalability.
• Perform system audits and optimize existing configurations.

Workflow & Process Optimization

• Translate business requirements into efficient JIRA workflows and solutions.
• Design and implement end-to-end process automation.
• Standardize project templates and operational processes across teams.
• Improve team productivity through workflow simplification and automation.

Automation & Integration

• Build advanced JIRA automations using native Automation Rules and marketplace applications.
• Develop integrations between JIRA and tools such as:
• Confluence
• Slack / Microsoft Teams
• GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket
• ServiceNow
• CRM and ERP systems
• Custom APIs
• Create automated notifications, escalations, approvals, and status transitions.

Reporting & Analytics

• Design dashboards, reports, and executive-level metrics.
• Build and maintain KPIs for engineering, product, support, and business teams.
• Create custom filters and reporting structures.
• Support portfolio, sprint, release, and capacity planning reporting.

Atlassian Ecosystem Management

• Administer and optimize Confluence and related Atlassian tools.
• Evaluate and manage Atlassian Marketplace apps.
• Ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Partner with vendors and stakeholders on platform improvements.

Training & Support

• Serve as the organization''s JIRA subject matter expert.
• Provide user training, documentation, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot configuration, workflow, and automation issues.
• Mentor project managers and team leads on effective JIRA usage.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on JIRA administration and configuration experience.
• Deep expertise with JIRA Cloud and/or JIRA Data Center.
• Strong experience designing complex workflows and automation rules.
• Experience with JIRA permissions, schemes, screens, custom fields, and project configurations.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe methodologies.
• Experience integrating JIRA with third-party platforms and APIs.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
