Low Voltage Installation Technician - Entry to Intermediate LevelOverviewWe are seeking hands-on, mechanically inclined individuals interested in building a long-term career in the low-voltage and security installation trade. Ideal candidates have experience working with tools, providing strong customer service, and working in environments that require physical activity-especially outdoors. Prior security installation experience is not required, but an interest in developing skilled trade expertise is essential.
This role includes a structured, paid training program designed to bring new technicians up to full proficiency.
What You'll DoAfter completing training, technicians will perform installation, programming, and service of residential low-voltage security equipment, including:
- Installation and programming of burglar alarms, CCTV (IP & analog), DVRs, and access control systems
- Installing window/door sensors, glass breaks, and smoke detectors
- Troubleshooting communication or signal issues
- Providing clear, confident customer education on equipment and system usage
- Testing and verifying signals to ensure proper device functionality
- Completing job-related paperwork and documenting part usage
- Maintaining accurate inventory inside the company-provided truck stock system
- Providing exceptional customer service during on-site visits
- Achieving performance goals, including quality installation and minimizing return visits
Training Program (Paid)Week 1:- Complete online and in-person technical training modules at a local branch office
Week 2:- Field observation shadowing a senior technician
Week 3:- Hands-on equipment installation under direct supervision
Weeks 4-5:- Continued field training until fully proficient and able to work independently
Upon completing training, technicians transition to the full active pay rate.
Qualifications- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using tools
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Construction
- Wiring or cabling
- Trades work
- Outdoor or physical labor
- Customer service in field environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read customer cues and remain solution-oriented
- Reliable, adaptable, and committed to learning a skilled trade
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
Preferred (not required):- Experience with security alarm installation or service
Tools & EquipmentTechnicians must provide the following personal tools:
- Full-size or foldable extension ladder (foldable strongly preferred)
- Screwdrivers
- Electric drill
- Wire cutters
- Hand sheetrock saw
Technicians do not need all tools on Day 1, but must understand they are required.
Company-provided:
- PPE kit
- Uniform polo shirts
Schedule & Travel Expectations- Schedules may vary: Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday
- Some overtime may be requested but not mandatory
- Daily schedule may run past standard hours depending on customer needs
- Typical travel radius: within 2 hours, mostly metro-area assignments
Mileage & Reimbursement- After training, technicians may be reimbursed up to $100 per week for gas (receipts required)
- Additional mileage beyond 300 miles per week can be submitted for reimbursement through the delivery management team
Experience Level- Intermediate preferred

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
