Role Overview
This position is responsible for performing engineering assignments that range from limited scope to advanced projects requiring expertise across multiple disciplines. The role involves working with increasing independence based on experience, focusing on utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations. The engineer will assist with project management, negotiations, and performance reporting while ensuring designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term reliability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage engineering projects, balancing cost, reliability, and performance.
- Engage in decision-making, technical analysis, project coordination, and engineering oversight.
- Ensure regulatory compliance throughout project lifecycles.
- Support detailed technical assessments, engineering design reviews, and compliance verifications.
- Bridge the gap between conceptual engineering and field execution by applying best practices.
- May lead a team of engineers and oversee design development and permitting for energy infrastructure.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and negotiations to ensure technical compliance and project success.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
Experience: 11 to 15 years of experience leading engineering teams and providing oversight for major energy infrastructure projects.
Specialized Engineering Functions:- Electrical/I&C Engineering: Experience with electric distribution systems, power systems, ladder logic, safe shutdown analysis, and computational tools (ETAP, EDISON).
- Mechanical Engineering: Knowledge of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pipe stress analysis, and ASME standards.
- Civil/Structural Engineering: Competency in designing and managing civil infrastructure, including foundations, site grading, drainage systems, seismic qualification, pipe supports, GT Strudel, welding, and rigging.
- MOV Valve Engineering: Skills in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and valve program management.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Professional Engineering (PE) certification is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $45.00 and $57.00 per hour. Please note that this assignment is eligible for worker furlough, which typically aligns with select national holidays. Per Diem and Mob/De-Mob expenses are not available for this role.
