We are seeking an Application Programmer with strong Python development experience for a role within a financial services environment. The position involves designing and developing complex server-side components for front-office derivatives risk systems. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced setting, liaising with stakeholders to manage complex requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex server-side components using Python.
- Work within financial markets, focusing on derivatives risk, pre-trade, or post-trade management systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and prioritize complex business requirements.
- Apply Agile and Lean software development practices and associated tools.
- Articulate technical problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Required Qualifications
Education: A degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field is required.
Experience: A minimum of five years of Python development experience is required, with demonstrable work in designing and developing server-side components. Experience in financial services, specifically with derivatives risk systems, is necessary.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is also expected.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java development.
- Knowledge of front-office derivatives risk systems, including pricing and risk concepts such as Greeks and Scenarios.
- Familiarity with equity derivatives products like Futures, Options, and Convertibles.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $60.00 and $68.26 per hour. This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
