BENEFITS SPECIALIST
12 months contract
Desperes MO

Support associates with health and welfare benefits administration by processing transactions, resolving eligibility and claims issues, and responding to inquiries via phone and email. Utilize HCM systems to review and update records, educate associates on benefit programs, and serve as the primary liaison between associates, benefits vendors, and internal stakeholders.
The role requires a proactive approach to identifying, investigating, and resolving benefits-related issues before escalation. Responsibilities also include reconciliation activities, service resolution, and ensuring accurate benefits administration across multiple plans and systems.
Because the team is supporting an ongoing HCM platform migration and rollout, candidates should be highly adaptable, comfortable navigating change and ambiguity, and able to maintain accuracy and accountability in a dynamic environment.
Oracle experience is preferred but not required. Contractors will receive the same onboarding, training, and performance expectations as core team members.
Experience
  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of Human Resources experience or 1 year in a customer/service-oriented role required.
  • Experience supporting benefits administration, employee inquiries, or HR operations preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Oracle experience preferred but not required.
  • ServiceNow and SharePoint experience preferred.
Span of Control and Influence
  • Supports all enrolled or prospective plan participants, including associates and their family members.
  • Impacts both U.S. and Canadian branch and home office associates.
  • Requires the ability to communicate benefits information accurately, as errors or poor explanations may negatively impact associates.

A successful candidate is a service-oriented professional who can confidently support associates and their families by resolving complex health and welfare benefits questions across multiple plans, systems, and vendor partners. They demonstrate strong communication skills, quickly learn new processes and technology, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. Success in this role requires a balance of empathy, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional associate experience.
