Job#: 2089188 Job Description: MBSE Solutions Architect / Systems EngineerLocation: Omaha, NE - Offutt AFB
Duration: 6+ month contract-to-hire
Conversion Salary: $195,000-$225,000 + Benefits & PTO
OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on MBSE Solutions Architect / Systems Engineer who blends systems engineering fundamentals with strong MBSE practice. You'll work directly with stakeholders to elicit and refine requirements, architect solutions, and build accurate, executable system models using Cameo/MagicDraw with SysML/UML (and ideally UAF). The role emphasizes independent execution within models-knowing what to capture and how to structure the model without day-to-day direction. While enterprise architecture exposure is beneficial, success in this role is rooted in technical systems engineering (requirements design implementation), not program or project management oversight. If you are interested, apply TODAY and/or email your most up-to-date resume to Anna Susie at .
Key Responsibilities- Lead and perform systems architecture and systems engineering across the lifecycle (requirements design implementation).
- Engage stakeholders to capture, clarify, and manage requirements and use cases.
- Build and maintain behavioral, structural, and interface models using SysML/UML/UAF within MBSE tools.
- Create architecture viewpoints that accurately represent workflows, interfaces, constraints, and system behaviors.
- Contribute to enterprise architecture alignment where appropriate to the domain.
- Provide hands-on modeling in tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw (or equivalent).
- Operate independently within modeling environments-proactively determining model scope, depth, and approach.
- Support technical reviews, trade studies, and architecture decision-making with model-derived evidence.
Required Qualifications- Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a TS/SCI clearance
- 7+ years of relevant IT/engineering/systems experience.
- Strong preference for 7-10 years with deep hands-on MBSE, or 10+ years in systems/architecture with solid MBSE understanding.
- Demonstrated MBSE experience and understanding of objectives/methods.
- Strong experience with SysML and/or UML.
- Proficiency with Cameo / MagicDraw or equivalent modeling tools.
- Ability to work independently in the model without daily direction.
- Capability to contribute to both systems engineering and enterprise architecture efforts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications- OCSMP certifications (including Delligatti OCSMP Accelerator training)
- INCOSE ASEP / CSEP / ESEP
- TOGAF certification
- Experience with UAF (Unified Architecture Framework)
- Formal training or coursework in SysML or UML
