Role Overview
As a Data Center Technician, you will be a primary resolver for the support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You will support and share knowledge of these technologies with team members. This role requires basic to intermediate system administration skills and the ability to work autonomously to resolve server issues while understanding all aspects of the equipment supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware infrastructure issues.
- Perform hardware replacements and repairs on servers and other data center equipment.
- Utilize basic Linux/Unix command line knowledge for system administration tasks.
- Use ticketing systems to manage and document support requests and resolutions.
- Collaborate with team members, sharing knowledge and working effectively to meet performance expectations.
- Adhere to all security protocols, including daily metal detection screening.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting to resolve connectivity issues.
Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1+ years of experience with basic networking knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP. 1+ years of familiarity with hardware components inside a server or computer.
Technical Skills:- Ability to perform hardware replacements and repairs.
- Basic Linux/Unix command line knowledge.
- Experience with ticketing systems and documentation.
- Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting.
- Understanding of cooling systems and power distribution.
Citizenship: As required by federal government contracts for this AWS GovCloud region, logical access will be restricted to U.S. Citizens effective February 24, 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA or CompTIA+ certification.
Work Schedule
Schedule flexibility is required, including the potential for night shift positions. Shift options may include Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday, from 6:00 AM-4:30 PM or 7:30 AM-6:00 PM. Training for the first two weeks will be Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM. Contingent workers are expected to work holidays if scheduled.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in data center environments with variable temperature conditions that fluctuate with seasons and external weather.
- Work areas may contain environmental allergens and airborne particles, including dust.
- The role requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and climb ladders to work at heights.
- Must successfully pass through metal detection equipment daily.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is expected to be between $20.00 and $28.00 per hour. Specific compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
