Role Overview
As a Data Center Technician, you will be a primary resolver for the support team, tasked with troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. This role requires basic to intermediate system administration skills and the ability to work autonomously to resolve server issues. You will support and share knowledge of various technologies with team members, take direction effectively, and work well within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex hardware infrastructure troubleshooting and resolution.
- Manage work and priorities effectively through a ticketing system.
- Conduct hardware replacements, repairs, and installations.
- Share technical knowledge and train new team members to support team development.
- Work within a team with responsibilities that may span multiple site locations.
- Apply technical skill to build, implement, and meet assigned goals.
- Perform intermediate network troubleshooting.
- Maintain documentation related to work performed.
Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:- 2+ years of experience with server hardware.
- 2+ years of experience with Linux operating systems.
- 2+ years of networking knowledge with an understanding of TCP/IP.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
Technical Skills:- Ability to perform hardware replacements and repairs.
- Familiarity with hardware components inside a server or computer.
- Understanding of storage devices.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix command line.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of data center experience.
- Associate's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Certified Network Defender (CND).
Work Environment
This position operates in a secure data center environment. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and climb ladders. The work environment may involve temperature fluctuations and the presence of airborne particles. Adherence to all required security and safety protocols, including daily metal detection screening, is mandatory.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $20.00 to $28.00 per hour. Please note that a comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
