Role OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on
Software Engineer to support two closely related enterprise platforms:
- Arcus - a full-stack financial reporting application (Java / Spring Boot backend, Angular front end)
- Cadre (Corporate Accounting Data and Reporting Ecosystem) - a Python and PySpark-based data platform that provides reporting, data storage, and analytics services for Arcus
This role requires a balanced
full-stack and data-engineering skill set. Initial work will focus primarily on
Arcus during its active development phase. Over time, responsibilities will transition more heavily to
Cadre as Arcus moves into maintenance mode.

ResponsibilitiesArcus - Full-Stack Application (Initial Focus)- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services using Spring Boot
- Build and support front-end components using Angular
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries supporting reporting and analytics
- Support deployment, stabilization, and transition of Arcus into maintenance mode
Cadre - Data Engineering Platform (Increasing Focus Over Time)- Build and maintain Python and PySpark pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and analysis
- Support ETL workflows feeding enterprise reporting platforms
- Develop integrations with S3-compatible object storage
- Support data loading, validation, and processing using NetApp-backed object storage
Cross-Platform Responsibilities- Collaborate with engineering, data, and business teams to deliver functional and non-functional requirements
- Analyze and resolve moderately complex technical issues
- Improve system reliability, performance, and data quality
- Follow enterprise standards for security, compliance, performance, and operational readiness
Required Qualifications- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, consulting, education, training, or military experience
- Production experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience building applications with Angular or a modern front-end framework
- Hands-on Python development experience
- Production experience with PySpark (not academic or training-only)
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and performance tuning
- Experience with relational databases (vendor-agnostic)
- Understanding of data management, schemas, validation, and performance
- Experience supporting systems in a large enterprise environment
- Ability to work on-site in Charlotte, NC (hybrid schedule)
Strongly Preferred Qualifications- Experience integrating with NetApp object storage
- Distributed data processing in enterprise environments
- Experience building data ingestion, ETL, or ELT pipelines
- Familiarity with S3 protocol, buckets, lifecycle management, and data access patterns
