Role Overview:We're seeking a DevOps-focused IT Engineer with deep PKI and certificate lifecycle expertise to support large-scale automation, reliability, and modernization initiatives. This role centers on building and enhancing automation that streamlines certificate-related operations, reduces manual work, improves security outcomes, and enables the transition into modern platforms such as Kubernetes and containerized environments.
You will work across engineering, security, and platform teams to design, support, and optimize automation that powers enterprise certificate lifecycle management, covering X.509 operations, monitoring, alerts, code-signing workflows, and Kubernetes certificate management patterns.
Key Responsibilities:- Support daily certificate lifecycle operations (issuance, renewal, replacement, decommissioning) with a strong emphasis on minimizing manual tasks.
- Enhance operational workflows using scripted notifications, escalation logic, and automated ticket/task creation.
- Build and maintain automation that expands certificate coverage and improves reliability using advanced scripting and DevOps patterns.
- Implement or improve Kubernetes certificate workflows using tools such as cert-manager, TLSPK, and related platform components.
- Contribute to automation for code-signing and container-signing pipelines.
- Support platform tooling including CyberArk Certificate Manager (formerly Venafi TPP) and machine identity solutions such as Firefly/Workload Identity Manager.
- Produce supportable runbooks, documentation, and operational readiness artifacts.
Qualifications:Required:- Hands-on X.509 certificate lifecycle experience.
- Strong PKI fundamentals: CA hierarchy, chains, revocation, policy rules, SANs, troubleshooting.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting (logging, packaging, secure credential handling, automation patterns).
- Proven DevOps mindset with experience supporting production automation and operational workflows.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across security, infrastructure, and engineering teams.

Compensation and Benefits:The pay rate for this position is between $65 and $85 per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
