Role Overview

The Data Product Manager is responsible for leading the lifecycle of data-centric products, with a focus on product discovery to ensure alignment with user needs and business value. This role provides formalized leadership to assigned teams, plans and directs the installation of Information Technology projects that impact multiple business areas, and ensures the successful execution of project roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define data product strategy and vision, and develop a product roadmap that evolves with user needs.
  • Lead product discovery by conducting design sessions, user interviews, and competitive analysis to gather insights.
  • Partner with engineering, solution architects, and business stakeholders to translate discovery insights into product features.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate product status, and advocate for the product.
  • Provide training and support for users to maximize product adoption.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to derive insights and inform product decisions while ensuring data quality.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to assess product performance and return on investment.
  • Manage the budget for product development and ensure optimal resource allocation.
Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related analytical field is required.

Experience: 6-10 years of experience in product management leading IT projects, with a focus on data products, discovery, managing cross-functional teams, and overseeing technical implementations. Candidates must have hands-on data engineering experience and be able to provide past examples of product development.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, data warehousing, and other data software architecture. Understanding of project management tools (JIRA, Trello, Confluence, Azure DevOps), data modeling, ETL processes, CI/CD workflows, and data visualization tools.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in an analytical field.
  • Experience in Agile project management, IT governance, financial forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Experience leading M365 implementations (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based collaboration tools and enterprise IT infrastructure.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to be onsite five days a week.
