Role Summary
The Deployment Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting and managing telecommunications and IT infrastructure deployment projects. This intermediate to senior-level role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of 1–2 deployment programs concurrently, from planning through to successful production release. The position requires collaboration with engineering, operations, field teams, and vendors to ensure timely, scope-compliant, and minimally disruptive deployments under the guidance of senior program leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Support comprehensive planning for network and hardware deployment initiatives, including defining scope, establishing milestones, and scheduling resources.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and field teams to synchronize deployment sequencing, readiness checks, and go/no-go decision points.
  • Develop and maintain detailed deployment schedules, tracking dependencies and ensuring alignment throughout project phases.
  • Manage vendor activities such as equipment staging, delivery, onsite installation, and testing to confirm readiness and adherence to timelines.
  • Serve as the main contact for field technicians during deployment activities, providing guidance and escalation support as necessary.
  • Monitor and document program progress, risks, dependencies, and milestones through accurate tracking tools and dashboards.
  • Identify potential risks, blockers, or scope changes impacting delivery timelines or service quality, and communicate them promptly to senior management.
  • Review and validate deployment documentation, including Method of Procedures (MOPs), site surveys, hardware BOMs, and configuration packages, prior to execution.
  • Ensure pre-deployment prerequisites are completed, such as hardware staging, network readiness, and change approvals, before field deployment.
  • Support post-deployment validation and troubleshooting activities to address installation issues and ensure acceptance criteria are met.

Qualifications

  • 3–8 years of experience in telecommunications, IT infrastructure deployment, or network operations.
  • Hands-on experience with network and hardware deployments, preferably within telecom environments, including Cisco technology expertise.
  • Working knowledge of routing, switching, or transport technologies to review deployment documentation effectively.
  • Proficiency with project management and tracking tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, or MS Project, alongside standard office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple teams and vendors simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder reporting.
  • Ability to work independently within a remote environment and manage multiple concurrent deployment projects.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Flexibility to accommodate deployment schedules and available for occasional on-site requirements if needed.
