Resource 1 is in need of a Sr. Leapwork QA Automation Engineer on a contract, hybrid basis in Chicago, IL for an initial 9-month engagement supporting a multi-year Dynamics 365 ERP implementation. The resource will lead Leapwork-based test automation efforts, help build the automation framework and test cases, and enable knowledge transfer to internal QA staff. They will act as a liaison with vendor teams to ensure end-to-end functional and integration regression coverage and help integrate automated testing into CI/CD processes to reduce vendor dependency over time.
Responsibilities:
· Lead design and development of Leapwork-based automated test cases and reusable test flows.
· Build and evolve the test framework and automation harness for Dynamics 365 test automation.
· Mentor and provide knowledge transfer to internal QA analysts and co-op/junior staff on Leapwork and D365 testing practices.
· Collaborate with vendor QA resources to align automation efforts and validate shared test cases.
· Execute and maintain functional, regression, and integration test suites across D365 modules.
· Work with BA and product teams to join design sessions, clarify user stories, and translate requirements into test scenarios.
· Coordinate with DevOps/engineering teams on test execution triggers and how automated tests integrate with ADO/CI-CD pipelines.
· Investigate data flows and verify end-to-end integrations between D365 modules and backend databases.
Required Skills & Experience:
· Hands-on Leapwork automation experience on enterprise projects.
· Strong Dynamics 365 (CE/F&O or similar modules) functional and integration testing experience.
· Proven experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
· Solid knowledge of functional, regression, and integration testing methodologies.
· SQL/Azure SQL familiarity and ability to validate backend data flows.
· Experience mentoring and delivering knowledge transfer to mixed-skill QA teams.
· Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and integrating automated tests with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
· Minimum 5+ years of professional QA/testing experience in enterprise environments.
Plusses:
· Experience with RSAT or other Microsoft test tooling.
· Background working on ERP implementations (SAP, Oracle or other large ERPs) in addition to D365.
· Experience collaborating with offshore teams.
