Job#: 3029770 Job Description: Apex Systems is hiring for a Network Engineer for a large healthcare client.

Location: Fully remote anywhere in the United States.
Employment Type: 8-month contract with potential to extend or convert.
Role Overview
This position builds and maintains data communication networks. The role involves optimizing processes, procedures, and standards for the operation of effective data networks, specific to LAN/WAN, mobility, and third-party network management. The Network Engineer will monitor network performance, coordinate planned maintenance, adjust hardware components, and respond to network connectivity issues.
This team is responsible for daily certificate lifecycle operations across the enterprise.
Its mission is to prevent certificate-related outages and security incidents by ensuring certificates are identified, renewed, validated, and tracked correctly before expiration.
Key Responsibilities
The team acts as the first line of defense against certificate failures by:
- Monitoring certificate alerts
- Coordinating renewals with application and platform teams
- Validating certificate replacements
- Ensuring ownership and follow-through
Works closely with:

oPlatform / infrastructure teams
oSecurity and compliance partners

Certificate inventory accuracy
Expiration reduction and outage prevention

Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field such as statistics, mathematics, engineering, or computer science is required, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Requires 1+ years of related experience.
Soft Skills: Seeks to acquire knowledge in the area of specialty. Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN).
- Experience with Cisco Firewalls.
- Experience with enterprise-wide network projects, including fault-tolerant LAN/WAN/SANs and disaster recovery.
- Experience with the implementation and design of QoS and traffic prioritization.
- Experience with MPLS, ATM, Frame Relay, and SONET network deployments.
- Foundational Understanding of TLS/Certificates
- Basic Linux / Windows Command-Line Exposure
- Ticketing & Operational Discipline
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $30.00 and $35.00 per hour. Please note that the pay rate may vary depending on experience and qualifications.
