Job#: 3017368 Job Description: About the RoleThis position supports our client's Research & Development organization. This team is part of an innovation hub dedicated to advancing situational awareness technologies for Transmission and Distribution. The center focuses on:
- Synchrophasor technology
- Next-generation control center tools
- Cybersecurity testing
- Advanced visualization methods
- DERMS platform evaluation
- Data analytics
- Power system modeling and simulation, including Real-Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) hardware-in-the-loop testing
You will contribute to cutting-edge research, support ongoing projects, and eventually lead efforts to deploy and evaluate emerging grid technologies.
What You'll Do- Support and lead research projects related to grid operations and planning.
- Develop research plans to evaluate new technologies and tools.
- Perform power system analysis, modeling, simulation, and digital twin development.
- Apply "big data" analytics and visualization techniques to grid operations challenges.
- Prepare documentation detailing study assumptions, methodologies, and results.
- Deliver clear, informative reports and presentations to stakeholders.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across R&D and Operations.
- Participate in occasional overnight travel (minimal).
Education & Technical Requirements- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (EE) required.
- Proficiency in power system modeling and simulation (RTDS, PSCAD, or PSS/E) required.
- Specialization in Power Systems preferred.
- Experience or training in programming (Python, C#, SQL) desired.
- Experience or training in data science desired.
- Knowledge of databases, data structures, and computer networking is a plus
