JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a senior Telecom Solution Engineer / Solutions Architect to lead a mission critical Channel Bank and legacy telecom retirement initiative. This role is accountable for both technical strategy and execution, operating as a hands on subject matter expert while providing structured execution leadership across multiple stakeholders in a regulated utility environment.
The role will evaluate existing legacy telecommunications systems, identify service dependencies, and design a phased migration approach to transition services from TDM based technologies (Channel Bank, POTS, 56K, T1) to modern Ethernet, MPLS, fiber, and wireless solutions.
Must Have
- Ability to design phased migration strategies, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and testing approaches
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, SharePoint, Teams), Visio, Project for tracking and reporting
- Direct experience owning or technically directing carrier orders (ASRs, LSRs, provisioning, turn‐ups, disconnects)
- Extensive expertise in legacy telecom infrastructure, including Channel Banks, POTS, 56K, and T1
- Hands‐on leadership of cutover events with real‐time technical decision making
- Proven leadership of end‐to‐end telecom migrations and retirements in live production environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills across carriers, contractors, SMEs, and senior leadership
- Strong working knowledge of Ethernet, MPLS, E‐Line, E‐LAN, fiber, and wireless access
- Experience in utility or regulated environments
- Experience with telecom billing validation and cost recovery
- Exposure to SCADA, OT, or critical infrastructure communications
- Familiarity with ITIL-based change and incident management
- PMP or equivalent certification
- Solutions Architecture or Sales Engineering background with a carrier or network vendor
