Job Description:
We are seeking a senior Telecom Solution Engineer / Solutions Architect to lead a mission critical Channel Bank and legacy telecom retirement initiative. This role is accountable for both technical strategy and execution, operating as a hands on subject matter expert while providing structured execution leadership across multiple stakeholders in a regulated utility environment.
The role will evaluate existing legacy telecommunications systems, identify service dependencies, and design a phased migration approach to transition services from TDM based technologies (Channel Bank, POTS, 56K, T1) to modern Ethernet, MPLS, fiber, and wireless solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end to end execution of legacy telecom retirement efforts from discovery through decommission
Perform service inventory and dependency analysis, including demarcation and site constraints
Develop migration phases, cutover plans, rollback strategies, and testing requirements
Own or technically direct carrier engagement, including ordering, provisioning, turn ups, and disconnects
Coordinate execution across carriers, contractors, internal SMEs, operations teams, and leadership
Lead cutover events, providing real time technical oversight (on site or remote as required)
Maintain execution tracking, risk management, and status reporting using Microsoft 365 tools
Drive formal service decommissioning and billing disconnects to ensure cost savings are realized
Ensure adherence to change management and regulatory standards common to utility environments
