Additional Locations: Charlotte, NC; Chandler, AZ
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
Duration: 24-Month Contract
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer to join a high-performing team responsible for protecting enterprise data through advanced encryption and key management solutions. In this role, you will design, implement, and support large-scale cryptographic platforms that secure critical business assets across complex infrastructure environments.

You will serve as a subject matter expert for Thales CipherTrust, helping drive encryption strategy, infrastructure modernization, and operational excellence. The position requires deep hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for mentoring engineers while improving security capabilities across the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise encryption and key management solutions.
  • Serve as the lead subject matter expert (SME) for Thales CipherTrust Key Manager and CipherTrust Transparent Encryption (CTE).
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to deploy secure and scalable data protection solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex encryption, performance, and operating system issues across Linux and Windows environments.
  • Lead infrastructure upgrades, security patching, firmware updates, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Develop automation and operational tooling using scripting and configuration management technologies.
  • Support incident response, root cause analysis, and change management processes.
  • Create technical standards, documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote security engineering best practices across the team.
  • Participate in Agile delivery processes, including planning, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Thales CipherTrust Key Manager and CipherTrust Transparent Encryption (CTE).
  • 5+ years of experience administering and troubleshooting Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with encryption, tokenization, or data protection technologies.
  • Experience with cryptographic concepts, key management, encryption algorithms, and security protocols.
  • Experience with automation and scripting tools such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise security appliances, hardware security modules (HSMs), or related platforms.
  • Experience implementing and supporting infrastructure upgrades, patching, and platform lifecycle management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating within large-scale enterprise or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience leading technical assessments, solution design, and implementation planning.
  • Knowledge of format-preserving encryption (FPE), tokenization, and transparent data encryption (TDE).
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Experience designing monitoring, observability, or synthetic transaction solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent.
  • Cloud certifications such as AZ-900, MS-900, or higher-level cloud credentials.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated industries.
