We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a platform team within a support organization. This role requires strong engineering capabilities to design and build solutions that enhance platform reliability, efficiency, and automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for automating tasks to improve support processes, participating in an agile delivery model, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead efforts in automation, deployment, and configuration management.
- Manage and maintain the primary customer-facing application environment.
- Provide hands-on application production support for global platforms and assist with onboarding applications.
- Liaise with development teams to drive application stability.
- Perform incident and problem resolution, including root cause analysis of outages.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, drive incident resolution, and improve platform resiliency.
- Build dashboards and alerting to monitor applications and infrastructure.
- Conduct weekend application maintenance activities, including releases and isolation exercises.
- Contribute to planning for disaster recovery, capacity expansion, and system upgrades.
- Drive process improvements and plant automation by developing and enhancing tools.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills:- Scripting: Python, Shell, JavaScript, Perl.
- Platform/OS: Strong experience with Unix/Linux and Windows Operating Systems, including administration, diagnostics, and performance tuning.
- Monitoring: Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, AIOPS, Cribl.
- Databases: Oracle, SQL, Sybase.
- Middleware: MQ, WebLogic, Apache, WebSphere, Splunk, Hadoop, Big Data, Oracle Coherence, Vertica.
- Network: DNS, DMZ, Networking, Load balancing (LTM/GTM/F5), Firewall/Proxy, SFTP/FTPs, Active Directory.
- Security: SSL, Kerberos, SAML, OAuth2, RBAC.
- Scheduler: Autosys, Unix level scheduling, or equivalent batch scheduling products.
- General Programming Knowledge: C/C++, Java, Python.
- Other: Ansible, OpenShift.
