Description
We are looking for a skilled Systems Security Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position is based in Cranston, Rhode Island, hybrid once a week or less depending on location commuting from, and offers the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing protection and enhancement of our organization's security framework. You will play a pivotal role in managing and securing hybrid systems, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure compliance and resilience within a regulated healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Configure and manage endpoint security for Windows, macOS, and mobile devices, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
Oversee patch management and address vulnerabilities across endpoints, servers, and cloud infrastructure.
Administer identity and access controls, including conditional access policies and privileged access management.
Maintain and refine firewall rules and secure remote access in collaboration with network and infrastructure teams.
Coordinate with third-party security vendors to enhance monitoring coverage and close security gaps.
Harden servers and cloud workloads using industry-aligned baselines, while documenting configuration standards.
Implement and optimize data governance and information protection controls using Microsoft Purview.
Ensure the security of public web applications and APIs by managing configurations, edge controls, and access patterns.
Contribute to incident response planning, ransomware recovery strategies, and disaster recovery exercises.
Develop and update security policies, runbooks, and audit documentation to support compliance efforts.
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in systems administration or security operations within hybrid environments.
Proficiency in Windows administration and Microsoft security tools.
Solid understanding of cloud security principles and practices.
Familiarity with Zero Trust concepts, including conditional access and least privilege methodologies.
Experience collaborating with vendors and driving security remediation efforts to completion.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on documentation.
Hands-on experience with automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell or Python.
Knowledge of endpoint security management tools, including Intune or equivalent platforms.
