Job#: 3020820 Job Description: Apex Systems is seeking a Senior Electromagnetics Systems Engineer to support an E3 Design Integration team onsite in Hazelwood, MO.
Primary Responsibilities:- Develops and validates electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements for communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and related electromagnetic systems, subsystems, components, interconnects, and structures.
- Develops system architectures for integrating components into higher-level systems and platforms.
- Performs E3 program planning, authors technical documentation, conducts continuous E3 oversight, and supports manufacturing activities.
- Executes trade studies, modeling, simulation, and computational electromagnetic (CEM) analyses to predict performance and optimize designs.
- Manages assignments to meet budget, schedule, and quality targets.
- Defines and conducts testing to validate design performance.
- Oversees supplier electromagnetic testing for compliance with standards and procedures.
- Ensures supplier and partner performance meets electromagnetic requirements.
- Analyzes supplier and partner data to verify compliance.
- Provides lifecycle support from manufacturing through end use, including root-cause analysis and engineering resolution of issues.
- Supports site-wide adherence to ESD process requirements.
- Contributes to project management activities including work statements, budgets, schedules, and status reporting.
- Writes proposal sections to support new business development.
- Provides general technical mentorship.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent international credential
- 9+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR 7+ years with a Master's, OR 3+ years with a PhD
- Experience in EMC, EMI, or E3 engineering
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications- 14+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR 12+ years with a Master's, OR 9+ years with a PhD
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics
- Experience with electromagnetic standards such as MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and RTCA DO-160
- Familiarity with standards including MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, IEC-61000, and FCC Part 15
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or military environments
- Experience with computational electromagnetic tools (e.g., FEKO, Cosite, ANSYS, CST)
- Strong written/verbal communication, project leadership, and decision-making skills
- Experience with ESD engineering
- Experience leading engineering teams
- Work experience within an engineering organization
- Experience with lightning testing and analysis
- TEMPEST Professional Certification (CTP-I or CTP-II)
