Summary

Job Title: Program Coordinator

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46204 (Onsite)
Duration: 3-Month Contract
Interview Mode: Phone & In-Person


Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Program Coordinator to support a state-level environmental health program. The selected candidate will work closely with licensing and environmental management teams to ensure homes affected by lead exposure are inspected and remediated safely and efficiently. This role requires strong multitasking ability, regulatory awareness, and administrative coordination skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate risk assessment assignments for children with elevated blood lead levels

  • Track progress on EPA grant deliverables

  • Review and process radon and lead license applications

  • Coordinate with applicants to collect required documentation and payments

  • Work with finance teams to track payment processing

  • Monitor field staff supply inventory and coordinate orders/refills

  • Manage equipment inventory, maintenance, and vendor coordination

  • Organize, digitize, and maintain licensing and monitoring records

  • Handle HIPAA-protected confidential records appropriately

  • Support onboarding of new employees and contractors

  • Research and respond to inquiries from staff and the public

  • Provide support at outreach events

  • Maintain working knowledge of lead, radon, and healthy homes regulations


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of strong organizational and multitasking experience

  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • 2+ years of experience with Adobe Acrobat (including editing PDFs)

  • Familiarity with lead and radon-related health/environmental regulations

  • Detail-oriented with strong confidentiality practices (HIPAA awareness)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and escalate issues appropriately

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders including government officials and environmental consultants

  • Comfortable learning moderately complex state rules and tracking systems


Highly Desired:

  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials


Work Environment:

  • Standard office setting

  • Extensive computer and document management work

  • Collaboration with field staff and occasional exposure to field operations
