Solutions Engineer - Senior to work in our
Washington, DC - Hybrid office.
Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. ECS is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to serve as a key technical innovator on the SEC's Infrastructure Support Services (ISS2) contract. In this role, you will identify , evaluate, and implement technology solutions that directly advance the SEC's modernization and automation agenda. You are the bridge between business requirements and technical implementation-translating the SEC's operational needs into proof-of-concept solutions, pilot programs, and production-ready deployments.
With the SEC actively investing in AI, intelligent automation, and cloud services, this role demands someone who doesn't just evaluate vendor products but can envision how emerging technologies-including generative AI, robotic process automation (RPA), and advanced analytics-can be applied to transform IT operations. You will work closely with the System Architects, Cloud Engineers, and the SEC's AI Task Force to bring modernization from strategy to execution.
General Description of Benefits
Required Skills - 8+ years of experience in solutions engineering, with a focus on evaluating and implementing new technologies in enterprise environments
- Proven track record of leading proof-of-concept development, technology pilots, and solutions analysis in IT infrastructure and operations
- Hands-on experience with at least two of: cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform), automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting), or AI/ML solutions
- Experience with intelligent automation tools-RPA (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate), AIOps platforms, or workflow orchestration
- Strong ability to produce quantitative analysis of alternatives with clear evaluation criteria and stakeholder-ready recommendations
- Experience mapping functional requirements to technology capabilities and conducting trade-off analysis
- Knowledge of federal IT compliance requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST)
- Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain; U.S. citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and 10+ years of experience accepted.
Desired Skills - Experience with AIOps platforms (Splunk ITSI, Dynatrace, ServiceNOW ITOM) for intelligent monitoring and incident response
- Hands-on experience implementing or evaluating generative AI tools for IT operations (chatbots, knowledge management, automated triage)
- AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent certification
- Experience in a federal financial regulatory environment (SEC, CFTC, FDIC, or similar)
- Knowledge of ITIL service management frameworks and how automation transforms service delivery
- Experience with data visualization and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Grafana)
